Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). I paired the extremely dank Zookies (GG4 x Animal Cookies) to Azad Kashmir. This plant is still under testing but is exhibiting the best of both traits, less stretch and lank than the zookies with the added trichome production and increased aroma on an already amazing smelling plant.
