Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About Gelapurt
In 2018, a grandson （HGP） of the grandmother found a few "bagseeds" in his original Gelato #41 from California. After planting three of these seeds and they had completed their flowering period, it was possible to select a phenotype that appeared most similar to the original Gelato. Another grandson （Vince） took care of getting a few cuts of this phenotype in Grandma's garden so that a test pollination could be done with it. First came Grandma's Punch （Gelato 41 x Critical Kush）, which proved to be stable. At this time, CBD strains were also being worked on at Grandma's, so HGP's Gelato was pollinated in another run with two Erdpurt males at the same time to expand the gene pool. The resulting seeds showed beautiful flowers with pink-orange pistils and shimmering purple inflorescences. The flavor evolved into an earthy, tart Kush aroma
